5Blue Software is seeking a Software Engineer who uses AI as a core part of the development process to build, understand, and maintain complex software systems. You will work on a large ecosystem of interconnected services, shared libraries, REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven data flows.

The role emphasizes adaptability, ownership, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions. You’ll design and implement APIs and integrations, work with queues, retries, and scheduled tasks, and

Qualifications

• Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar) in daily development workflows.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, API design, data modeling, asynchronous processing, and testing.
• Proficient in at least one modern backend ecosystem (Python, Node.js, Go, Java, .NET, PHP, etc.).
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and become productive in unfamiliar codebases.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong Docker and Docker Compose skills.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, and collaborative workflows.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code and own technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and frontend features.
• Design and implement APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
• Work with asynchronous processing, queues, retries, and scheduled tasks.
• Design reliable solutions across multiple services and databases.
• Use AI tools to navigate complex codebases and accelerate development.
• Own features end-to-end: analysis, implementation, testing, code review, and deployment.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions and continuous improvement.
