Job summary

Rula is hiring an Engineering Manager for AI/ML to lead its AI engineering team, delivering features like transcript summarization and search relevance while building foundational ML platforms. You will mentor Senior and Staff engineers and drive scalable, safe AI systems with a focus on rapid delivery and strong coaching.

The role emphasizes architecture of feature stores, MLOps pipelines, and AI observability, with remote-first collaboration across the United States.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering and ML experience, including design, scaling and deployment of distributed backend systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• 3+ years of direct engineering management experience leading Senior/Staff engineers.
• 3+ years leading or building core ML infrastructure (feature stores, MLOps pipelines, deployment systems, AI observability).
• 2+ years directing production-grade applied AI features (LLM integrations, NLP, transcript summarization, search/ranking).
• Proven ability to balance user-facing features with backend infra across multiple release cycles.

Responsibilities

• Guide a senior/Staff engineering team to rapidly deliver user-facing features (transcript summarization, search relevance).
• Architect core AI/ML infrastructure including feature stores and observability platforms.
• Ensure safe, scalable scaling and strong execution with a culture of Radical Candor.
