Job summary

7Seventy is seeking an AI Engineer to design and deliver production-grade AI applications powered by large language models, with a focus on agentic systems and MCP-based integrations. You will build intelligent agents, RAG pipelines, and enterprise-grade AI tooling for government stakeholders, ensuring reliability, observability, security, and production readiness.

The role covers back-end Python development, API exposure, and collaboration with product teams to define AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including AI/LLM features in production.
• Experience designing agentic systems with tool calling, multi-step reasoning, or orchestration.
• Strong Python development skills with backend API deployment (FastAPI/Flask).
• Experience with major LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock).
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector stores, and retrieval evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic systems that plan tasks, call tools, retrieve context, and act with human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
• Develop MCP servers/clients to expose data and tools to LLMs securely and auditable.
• Build and deploy LLM-powered apps (copilots, document intelligence, enterprise search, automation).
• Implement RAG pipelines, chunking, embeddings, vector stores, retrieval and grounding methods.
• Integrate model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, etc.) considering quality, latency, and cost.
• Develop evaluation, monitoring, and observability for AI apps and agent systems.
