Job summary

PetLab Co. is seeking a mid-weight video editor and producer to build AI-powered performance ads for Meta, TikTok and YouTube. You will craft hooks, scripts and creative concepts that drive direct response and scale customer acquisition.

This remote role offers base compensation with bonuses, a fast-growing DTC brand, and the chance to shape the creative engine behind ads that convert at volume.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of video editing experience, including at least 2 years focused on paid social ads for DTC or eCommerce brands.
• Proven experience creating AI-powered ads and a portfolio including AI-generated ads.
• Hundreds, ideally thousands, of paid social ads produced with measurable results (ROAS/CPA).
• Strong written and spoken English, with confidence to present ideas and work with a global team.
• Experience using AI video tools daily (Veo, Kling, Runway, Higgsfield, HeyGen, Arcads).
• Expert skills in Premiere Pro and/or CapCut; After Effects/DaVinci Resolve a plus.
• Understanding of hooks, pacing, retention, offers and CTAs for conversion.
• Familiarity with performance metrics and how editing choices impact them.
• Ability to deliver a high volume of ads weekly with speed and quality, in fast-moving teams.
• Bonus: affinity for animals; pet/health brands are a real plus.

Responsibilities

• Editing 60% of time: turning briefs and raw footage into high-converting ads for Meta, TikTok and YouTube.
• Writing hooks and crafting pacing to keep visuals changing every 2–3 seconds.
• Adding captions, overlays, sound design, CTAs tailored to each platform.
• Cutting diverse footage into native-feeling ads (UGC, creator, stock, AI-generated).
• Exporting in multiple aspect ratios with organized files for media buyers.
• Testing and integrating new AI tools to accelerate production.
• Creative strategy & scripting: writing direct-response scripts, hooks and CTAs.
• Collaborating with strategists, paid media, and other teams to guide creative briefs and shot lists.
• Iterating on ads based on performance data to improve conversions.
