Job summary

Renew Home is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead AI-assisted development from the inside. You will help define how engineers interact with AI tools and agents, shape standards and guardrails, and continuously improve the daily experience of writing, building, testing, and iterating on code.

You will be embedded within application teams, earning trust from engineers, driving priorities, and delivering durable changes with collaboration and buy-in.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering with developer tooling or productivity focus.
• Deep familiarity with TypeScript/Node and Python ecosystems and tooling.
• Experience with monorepos (Nx) and scalable codebases.

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution of AI Developer Experience across the software lifecycle.
• Evaluate, adopt and govern AI development tooling with measurable impact.
• Improve build, tests, linting, and deployment speed in TS/Node and Python.
• Own devcontainer strategy for local and cloud environments.
• Mentor engineers and drive durable changes through iteration.
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability, and SDLC initiatives.
