Job summary
Renew Home is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead AI-assisted development from within the application teams, defining how engineers interact with AI tools and setting guardrails for safe, effective adoption. You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team improvements, and own the evolution of our AI Developer Experience across TypeScript/Node and Python, delivering fast feedback loops and durable changes.
This fully remote role offers a competitive base salary, a 15% target bonus, and long‑term
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, focused on developer tooling or platform engineering.
- Deep familiarity with TypeScript/Node and Python ecosystems.
- Experience with monorepo tooling (Nx or similar).
- Hands-on experience configuring devcontainers.
- Experience evaluating AI development tools and establishing guardrails.
- Strong listening, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bonuses: agentic workflows, AI security, cloud-based development environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of the AI Developer Experience across the SDLC.
- Govern AI tooling adoption, ensuring security and measurability.
- Improve speed of common actions in TS/Node and Python codebases.
- Own devcontainer strategy for local and cloud environments.
- Maintain and improve local testing frameworks and dev-facing tests.
- Evolve internal libraries and configuration systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD, SDLC upgrades, onboarding and observability.
