Job summary

Brunel, partnering with DataAnnotation, seeks practicing data scientists for an AI training program. You will design real‑world data science tasks, evaluate AI outputs, and contribute to high‑quality AI systems across analytics, ML, statistics, NLP, or computer vision.

This is fully remote, project-based with a 10‑hour minimum per week and potential for full-time hours. Pay ranges from $40–$125 per hour, paid via PayPal, for eligible applicants worldwide as an independent contractor.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
• 2+ years of professional applied data science experience
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL, with ability to write and explain analysis code
• Ability to own a multi-step analysis end to end from raw data to interpretation
• Ability to judge whether results are real and explain why they are correct or incorrect
• Familiarity with AI tools and quick self-learning
• Bachelor’s in a quantitative field preferred

Responsibilities

• Design challenging data science tasks from your practice: exploratory analysis, A/B test design and readout, or a model with proper validation
• Run tasks through frontier AI models and judge outputs against professional standards
• Compare model outputs on identical prompts/files and document which performed better and why
• Write detailed grading rubrics and tests defining deliverables and passing criteria
• Flag concrete failures with evidence: leakage, confounding, wrong joins, misapplied tests, or data fabrication
• Contribute across analytics, ML, experimentation, and data engineering and review tasks created by others
