Job summary

Brunel partners with DataAnnotation to connect experienced Mechanical Engineers with an AI training program. This remote, project-based engagement invites engineers across mechanical design, CAD, structures, and related disciplines to contribute their knowledge toward evaluating and improving AI models in real-world engineering tasks.

Selected experts will design problems, derive solutions, and test AI models while ensuring technical accuracy.

Qualifications

• Fluent English with ability to explain complex reasoning in writing.
• 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in relevant disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluids, and manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD/FEA/CFD tools or MATLAB/Python for analysis.
• Ability to craft precise, rigorous engineering problems and justify solutions.
• Ability to articulate why an answer is correct or incorrect.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging mechanical problems based on professional experience.
• Derive and verify solutions with clear, rigorous worked steps.
• Test problems against AI models and refine them for robust reasoning.
• Evaluate AI-generated analyses for real-world applicability.
• Compare AI solutions and identify strengths, weaknesses, errors.
• Identify concrete failures: incorrect assumptions, unit errors, misinterpretations.
• Review problems and solutions for technical correctness and relevance.
• Apply expertise across Mechanical Design, Structures, Thermal, Dynamics, Manufacturing.
