Job summary

Brunel in partnership with DataAnnotation offers a remote, project-based opportunity for experienced Mechanical Engineers to help train AI models. You will craft challenging, closed-ended problems, derive rigorous solutions, and evaluate AI-generated analyses across mechanical design, structures, thermal systems, dynamics, manufacturing, and related fields.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mechanical engineering, strong CAD/analysis tool experience, English fluency, and a degree in mechanical

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and ability to communicate complex reasoning clearly.
• 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in relevant disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Solid grounding in mechanics of materials, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluids, and manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Creo, NX, CATIA, or Inventor; FEA/CFD tools; MATLAB/Python.
• Ability to craft precise, rigorous engineering problems with transparent solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging mechanical engineering problems based on professional experience.
• Derive and verify correct answers with rigorous worked solutions.
• Test problems against advanced AI models and refine to challenge reasoning.
• Evaluate AI-generated engineering analyses for accuracy and practicality.
• Identify weaknesses, edge cases, and potential failure modes.
• Review problems and solutions for technical correctness and relevance.
• Apply expertise across Mechanical Design & CAD, Structures & Materials, Thermal & Fluids, Dynamics & Controls, and Manufacturing.
