Job summary

DataAnnotation is seeking software engineers to advance AI development on our contracting platform. As a member of our Software Engineering team, you'll tackle coding problems, build applications, debug code, and help refine AI systems while working from home.

Contractors choose projects, set schedules, and earn hourly rates starting at $50–$100+ per hour. PayPal handles payments and currency conversions, with this role open to multiple countries and available as a flexible, independent position.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual) is required.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C, C++, Go, Kotlin, Swift, or React).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including problem solving, debugging, and code review.

Responsibilities

• Create and work with coding environments, unit tests, and verifiers.
• Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems.
• Write clear, high-quality code and technical explanations.
• Evaluate model trajectories for accuracy, performance, readability, and best practices.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement in AI-generated solutions.
• Provide structured feedback that helps improve the next generation of AI models.
