Job summary

Flexcompute's PhotonForge team is seeking an Agentic Photonic Design Engineer to expand our PIC design platform. You’ll work in Python and C++ to ship AI-driven workflows, EDA tool integrations, and production-grade components that accelerate photonic design.

This remote role prefers candidates near the Boston area who can collaborate in person or hybrid. You’ll tackle multi-physics problems using GPU-accelerated solvers and contribute across quantum, RF, and silicon photonics applications.

Qualifications

• Experience with EDA tools and photonic design workflows.
• Strong physics or engineering foundation; Maxwell equations knowledge helpful.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for production code.

Responsibilities

• Build interfaces between PhotonForge and industry EDA tools for layout, DRC, LVS, and schematic-driven design.
• Develop AI-native workflows and automation inside PhotonForge and related tools.
• Contribute to Python production code and read/extend C++ components in core platform.
• Collaborate on photonic design challenges across quantum and silicon photonics domains.
