Axiomatic AI is seeking a Field Application Engineer (Integrated Photonics) to join a mission-driven team advancing AI-native engineering tools for photonics. You will engage with PIC designers, Foundry and EDA partners, and engineering leadership to identify bottlenecks and architect deployable AI-assisted workflows that integrate with existing environments.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in a science or engineering field (e.g., integrated photonics, electrical or telecommunications engineering).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in photonic product development; experience reaching market deployment is highly valued.
• Experience with established photonics/EDA tools (COMSOL, Ansys, RSoft, Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys OptoCompiler, Luceda IPKISS).
• Experience with advanced photonic components like high-speed modulators or photodiodes.
• Experience working with EDA vendors or photonic foundries to deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI-assisted workflows for photonic design, verification, and yield improvement.
• Translate photonic processes into verifiable workflows blending physics with AI reasoning.
• Identify bottlenecks with customer teams and deliver deployable, integrated solutions.
• Build physics-grounded models and scalable analyses across process corners.
• Collaborate with technology, infrastructure, and product teams to turn prototypes into reusable platform features.
