Flexcompute is hiring a Senior Design Automation Engineer in Watertown, MA. This remote role focuses on extending their PhotonForge platform for photonic integrated circuit design, requiring a strong foundation in physics or engineering, proficiency in Python, and familiarity with EDA tools. Candidates will work on real-world design challenges and build integrations with industry-standard EDA platforms. Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Maxwell’s equations and semiconductor device physics.
• A few years of industry experience in photonic chip design or EDA development.
• Experience with C++ is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations between PhotonForge and industry-standard EDA tools.
• Work on design challenges in quantum photonics and RF photonics.
• Leverage GPU-accelerated Tidy3D multi-physics solvers.

Skills

Strong physics or engineering foundation

Proficient in Python

Familiar with EDA and PIC design tools

Active use of AI tools

Education

Degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or related field (MS or PhD preferred)
