Job summary

Amerisure, a leading property and casualty insurer, seeks an Agency Managing Director to oversee agency partnerships and drive profitable growth in a broad growth territory. The role is remote within the territory and emphasizes building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.

You will lead agency financial performance, develop business plans, influence underwriting when appropriate, and collaborate with the distribution team to optimize commissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8 years of market-facing experience, underwriting experience preferred.
• 3 years managing direct business relations with agency ownership or leadership preferred.
• Proven ability to identify long‑term opportunities and align agency efforts with strategic goals.
• Track record of initiative, ownership, and team motivation.
• Strong ability to build positive internal and external relationships.
• Ability to travel 40%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the financial performance of agency relationships by tracking profitability, growth trends, and submission activity.
• Build and execute agency business plans.
• Identify opportunities to maximize growth by owning key performance metrics related to the agency’s financial performance and work.
• Act as the agency’s primary point of contact and advocate within Amerisure, ensuring access to resources.
• Foster strong relationships by helping agencies navigate internal processes and influencing decisions.
• Exercise high-level premium authority and influence underwriting decisions when needed.
• Collaborate with the distribution team to monitor commissions and drive growth opportunities.
