Job summary

Ladders seeks an experienced Assistant General Counsel - Corporate, Commercial & Structured Finance to partner with senior leadership on complex financing and governance for a fast-moving financial services business. This remote-friendly role focuses on structured and asset-backed lending, with close collaboration with lenders, rating agencies, and outside counsel.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of relevant experience, a U.S.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing.
Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience, fintech or lenders preferred.
Proven capability in structured finance and debt facilities.
Ability to mentor junior attorneys and deliver business-focused advice.
Experience with legal tech workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

Structure, draft, negotiate, and execute complex debt facilities and securitizations.
Serve as primary legal liaison to institutional lenders and rating agencies.
Oversee closing activities and compliance for borrowing facilities.
Partner with leadership to design innovative financing products.
Draft and negotiate strategic contracts and vendor agreements.
Support corporate governance and subsidiary management.
Manage external counsel to ensure quality execution.
