Job summary

Curana Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for our National After-Hours Call Team. This work-from-home role delivers telephonic, senior-focused clinical care across multiple states during evenings and nights, with weekend coverage and a focus on timely, high-quality support.

Experience in geriatrics and acute/chronic care is essential. The position requires an NP license in at least two states, multi-state licensure potential, and DEA prescriptive authority where applicable.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner required.
• Current unrestricted NP license in at least 2 of: IA, MO, KS, OH (ability to obtain multi-state licenses).
• NP national certification (ANP, FNP, or GNP).
• DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority possible.
• Experience with acute and chronic disease management.
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatrics.
• 3+ years of NP practice experience.
• Ability to obtain collaborative practice agreement as applicable.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts per scheduling policies.
• Proficient in documenting medical information in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of after-hours telephonic care for residents and staff.
• Coordinate care between facilities, hospitals, and clinics via Curana’s telephonic platform.
• Deliver high-quality, cost-effective care addressing acute, chronic, and behavioral health needs with physicians and specialists.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document encounters thoroughly in the EMR per CMS requirements.
• Apply Curana’s clinical protocols to support safe, effective treatment.
• Participate in mandatory education and training to stay current with standards of care.

Education

Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner

Current unrestricted NP license in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, or Ohio

Nurse Practitioner national certification as ANP, FNP, or GNP

Ability to obtain DEA licensure / Prescriptive Authority

Background in acute and chronic disease management

Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatrics

3+ years of experience as a NP

Ability to gain collaborative practice agreement

Ability to work scheduled shifts

Proficient EMR documentation
