Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. is seeking a highly capable GNC engineer to design and verify guidance, navigation, and control systems for space missions. The role is remote from an approved location in the United States and will involve embedded C++ development.

You will perform GNC analysis, simulations, and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and help roadmap development for new customer opportunities. The team collaborates across disciplines to deliver reliable, high-performance ADCS for precision pointing

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent plus 2–3 years of professional experience, OR several years of experience hands-on with GNC analysis and design.
• Strong C++ software skills.
• Experience with numerical environments such as Python, Julia, MATLAB.
• Experience with control stability analysis of flexible bodies.
• Experience with ADCS of precision pointing platforms.
• Experience with spacecraft flight operations.
• US Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement guidance, navigation & control architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment.
• Define requirements for ADCS algorithms, hardware, and related systems — both for existing missions and roadmap development.
• Perform analysis and simulation of mission-specific GNC performance.
• Collaborate on the development of an offline geolocation processing pipeline.
• Support software- and hardware-in-the-loop test planning, execution, and validation.
