Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. is hiring a GNC engineer to design and implement guidance, navigation, and control architectures for embedded C++ environments.

You will define ADCS requirements for current missions and roadmap initiatives, and perform GNC performance analyses to enable new customer opportunities. The role involves developing offline geolocation processing pipelines, supporting software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and applying Python, Julia, and MATLAB in a fast-paced aerospace setting.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent with 2–3+ years of professional experience, or extensive hands-on GNC work.
• Experience in GNC analysis and design for aerospace systems.
• US government security clearance or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GNC architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment.
• Define requirements for ADCS algorithms and hardware for existing missions and roadmap development.
• Perform analysis and simulation of mission-specific GNC performance.
• Collaborate on offline geolocation processing pipeline development.
• Support software- and hardware-in-the-loop test planning, execution, and validation.
• Demonstrate strong C++ software skills and numerical programming with Python, Julia, or MATLAB.
• Apply control stability analysis to flexible bodies and ADCS of precision pointing platforms.
• Contribute to spacecraft flight operations.
