Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary Inc is seeking an Adoption & Foster Coordinator to manage adoptions and foster inquiries within a primarily remote, Kansas-area role. The position requires coordinating references, home checks, and timely decisions with volunteers and leaders.

You will recruit and support foster families, oversee volunteer tasks, and ensure engaging dog bios and updates for outreach. Weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating adoptions and fostering processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication with volunteers and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple applications and follow through on outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor adoption and foster inquiries; acknowledge, assign and track applications from receipt to final outcome in ShelterLuv.
• Recruit, onboard and support foster families; maintain roster of capacity and needs.
• Support existing volunteer teams with clear expectations and coverage management.
• Visit facilities and connect with foster families to learn dog personalities and needs; create engaging bios and updates.
• Coordinate safe matches and transitions; track returns and outreach needs.
• Keep staff and applicants updated; protect private information; follow policy and avoid veterinary decisions outside authority.
