Job summary

CARE STL is seeking compassionate Adoption & Foster Coordinators to connect homeless pets with fosters and loving families. You’ll assist adopters, coordinate foster placements, and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, or by email.

This is a full-time role with weekend availability; training includes Fear Free Shelter Certification during onboarding and ongoing teamwork to support lifesaving efforts in the shelter.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a busy shelter environment.
• Willingness to complete Fear Free Shelter Certification during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Help adopters find the right pet for their family.
• Support foster families and coordinate placements.
• Respond to inquiries by phone, email, or in person.
• Arrange meet-and-greets between adopters and animals.
• Provide guidance to community members.
• Process adoptions and foster placements.
• Maintain animal records in the shelter database.
• Assist with daily animal care and enrichment.
• Work with teammates to support lifesaving efforts.
• Monitor shelter capacity and assist with daily reports.
