Qualifications

• Must hold a current, active state license or certification in addiction counseling.
• Post-credentialing experience providing direct addiction counseling services.
• Experience with evidence-based modalities (MI, CBT, Matrix Model) is valued.
• Telehealth competency with HIPAA-compliant platforms.
• Maintain active professional liability (malpractice) insurance.
• Ability to establish a therapeutic alliance and remote treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Remote Addiction Counseling: conduct assessments, create collaborative treatment plans, and deliver individual counseling via secure HIPAA video.
• Relapse prevention and skill development: guide clients in developing coping strategies for triggers and cravings.
• Psychoeducation: educate clients and families about addiction, recovery, treatment modalities, and supports.
• Clinical documentation: maintain accurate, timely, confidential records per HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and state laws.
• Ethical & legal compliance: adhere to NAADAC code of ethics and licensing regulations.
• Client communication: foster a supportive therapeutic alliance and clearly discuss goals, progress, and expectations.
• Direct fee management: set fees and manage billing directly with clients.
