Job summary

Optum360 Coding Operations is seeking an experienced SME to oversee coding services for facility-based and HIM operations within the region, driving quality metrics, workflow standardization, and audits. You will maintain strong client relationships and lead initiatives to improve coding efficiency and accuracy.

This role offers remote work from anywhere in the U.S. and requires a current coding credential (AAPC/AHIMA) with 5+ years in leadership across large healthcare systems, including CDI

Qualifications

• Must have a current, active coding credential through AAPC or AHIMA.
• 5+ years as a subject matter expert in corporate coding leadership for large multi-site healthcare organizations, both internal and contract as well as remote and/or domestic and global.
• 5+ years of experience in coding reviewer role auditing Inpatient and/or Outpatient accounts.
• 5+ years of experience working with CDI and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy.
• 5+ years of experience with computer assisted coding technologies and EMR coding workflow.
• Intermediate Excel proficiency for managing large data sets.
• Intermediate PowerPoint proficiency for training diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintains expert knowledge of coding and coding operations; drives standardization of processes.
• Executes integration of coding functions and processes across facilities.
• Monitors coding operations, completes prebill reviews, and drives quality improvements.
• Leads quality assurance/compliance activities and remediation plans.
• Maintains client relationships and represents Optum360 values in all interactions.
