Job summary

Optum Insight is seeking an experienced Coding SME to oversee Optum360 coding services across facilities, driving quality, efficiency, and standardized processes. The role emphasizes collaboration with CDI, HIM, and clients to meet SLAs and improve reimbursement.

You’ll work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., reporting to Optum360 HIM/Coding Operations leadership and leading initiatives that enhance performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• AAPC or AHIMA coding credential required.
• 4+ years as SME in corporate coding leadership for large multi-site healthcare orgs with 35+ staff.
• 4+ years in inpatient/outpatient/ambulatory coding roles or coding reviewer.
• Experience with CDI and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and accuracy.
• Experience with computer assisted coding technologies and EMR workflow.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding operations across facilities within the region.
• Lead initiatives on quality metrics, workflow improvement, and audits.
• Collaborate with HIM, CDI, Client, and Coding Operations to monitor daily coding operations.
• Lead and participate in QA/compliance activities and remediation.
• Maintain client relationships and represent Optum360 values.
