Job summary

Optum360 Coding Operations seeks an SME to oversee facility-based and HIM coding departments within the assigned region. You will drive quality metrics, workflow improvements, and audits to meet or exceed SLAs, KPI targets, and standardize processes while maintaining strong client relationships.

This remote US-based role requires deep coding knowledge, multi-site leadership experience, and collaboration with CDI, QA, and client teams.

Qualifications

• AAPC or AHIMA credential required.
• 4+ years as SME in corporate coding leadership for large multi-site healthcare orgs (35+ staff).
• 4+ years in Inpatient/Outpatient/ Ambulatory coding or coding reviewer role.
• 4+ years collaborating with CDI and Quality leadership to improve reimbursement and coding accuracy.
• 4+ years with computer-assisted coding technologies and EMR coding workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility-based and HIM coding operations leadership of Optum360 Coding Departments within the assigned region.
• Lead initiatives on quality metrics, workflow improvements, and audits to meet or exceed targets.
• Collaborate with HIM, CDI, Client, and Coding Operations to monitor day-to-day coding operations and prebill reviews.
• Mentor staff, drive standardization, and promote best practices across coding functions.
