Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Acute Care Coder with ICD-10-PCS inpatient coding experience for a fully remote role. The position involves accurate coding across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency records and requires proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines.

Candidates should have a college diploma in medical coding or equivalent healthcare coding experience. The role supports reimbursement, data quality, and hospital reporting with flexible scheduling and nationwide eligibility.

Qualifications

• ICD-10-PCS inpatient procedure coding knowledge.
• CPT coding guidelines and principles.
• Healthcare coding experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes for inpatient, outpatient, and ED records.
• Abstract data and support billing, data quality, and statistics.
• Apply diagnostic reports to accurate codes per Official Coding Guidelines.
• Enter information into coding system and communicate with management via queries.
• Meet productivity expectations to support DNFB and bill hold metrics.
• Review demographics fed via HL7 and adjust as needed.
