Job summary

ChristianaCare is actively seeking a full-time Coder III to accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and other records. The role includes data abstraction and ensuring timely, accurate billing and reporting.

A CCS credential and relevant HIM degree or AHIMA certificate are required, with a preferred background in acute care coding and mentoring. This position offers comprehensive benefits and remote work options.

Qualifications

• CCS credential required.
• College Degree in Health Information Management or AHIMA certificate/1 year of coding experience.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Health Information Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes for inpatient, outpatient, and other records.
• Perform data abstraction to support accurate billing and reporting.
• Mentor newer coders and assist in training.
