Job summary

Astrana Health, Inc. seeks a Sr. Analyst - Actuary to drive financial analytics behind payer contracts across MA, Medicaid, and Commercial lines.

You will build models from scratch, track contract performance, and support negotiations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Actuary, this role offers remote or hybrid work options. The ideal candidate holds FSA/ASA credentials or near attainment, 3+ years actuarial experience, 1+ year in VBC or related roles, and strong Excel/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• FSA/ASA credentials or near attainment of ASA credentials.
• 3+ years of experience in actuarial roles.
• 1+ years of experience in VBC or VBC adjacent roles.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
• Champion of independent critical thinking and innovative solutions.
• Ability to build actuarial models from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Strategic deal modeling to support contract negotiations with health plans.
• Data-driven insights to improve financial and operational performance of health plan contracts.
• Financial impact analysis tracking, forecasting, and reporting of payer contracts.
• Develops analytical infrastructure, reports, and dashboards for monitoring performance.
• Monitors market trends and reimbursement strategies affecting contracts.
• Performs ad hoc analyses including benchmarking and contract optimization.
• Collaborates with Reserving, Analytics, Data, Finance, M&A, Contracting, Medical Economics, and Operations.
