Job summary

Providence is seeking an Associate Actuary for a remote role. The position requires advanced actuarial analysis, minimal supervision, and the ability to guide teams and senior stakeholders across the organization.

You will tackle complex projects, forecast risks, and deliver high‑quality results while mentoring junior analysts and collaborating across departments. Ideal candidates will have healthcare actuarial experience, ASA (and possibly FSA) credentials, strong SQL skills, and a track record

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Finance, or a related field.
• Successful completion of 4+ exams of the ASA designation.
• Upon hire: ASA designation.
• 5 years healthcare actuarial/analytics experience.
• Experience with writing queries in SQL or another programming language.
• Demonstrated experience applying project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects.
• Experience working for a large health care provider or plan.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex actuarial work with minimal supervision and delivers high quality results.
• Communicates findings and recommendations clearly to actuarial peers, leaders, and senior stakeholders across the organization.
• Takes ownership of complex projects from planning through completion, anticipating dependencies, risks, and key decisions.
• Provides guidance to project teams and supports the growth of junior analysts through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Demonstrates emerging leadership by modeling accountability and collaboration, and actively partners across teams to achieve shared outcomes.
