Job summary

West Physics is seeking a full-time Accounting Specialist to support financial operations. Remote role with responsibilities including AP/AR, invoicing, month-end close, and reporting in a confidential, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Experience with Apple/Macintosh computers preferred.
• Candidate must be willing to learn new tools and take on new responsibilities as the role grows.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Collections of past due invoices and achieve aggressive DSO goals.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Process and maintain confidential financial records, reports, and documents; protect data Security.
• Support budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Answer calls, data entry, filing, and other office duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
