Job summary

Voya Financial is seeking an Accounting Manager within Voya IM Controllership, reporting to the VP, Controller. This remote/work-from-home role emphasizes compensation accounting, leadership development, and process automation.

The successful candidate will be a strong technical accountant and proven people leader with expertise in compensation, revenue, and investment accounting, driving talent development and strategic partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business/Administration.
• 6-8 years progressive accounting experience in financial reporting, expense management, and monthly ledger closes.
• 5 years of experience managing a corporate function or division.
• Experience leading process improvement, automation, or transformation initiatives.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Must meet qualifications to sit for the FINRA Series 27 Exam.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Public accounting and financial services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review legal entity financial statements per US GAAP, IFRS, and Proxy / SAI investment fund data.
• Lead compliance with regulatory bodies related to the firm’s financial policies and audits.
• Represent Voya IM before boards and respond to external and internal audits.
• Oversee accounting for employee compensation programs (incentives, deferred, equity, long‑term incentives).
• Develop accrual methodologies and ensure compliance with accounting guidance.
• Partner with HR, Payroll, Compensation, and Finance for accurate reporting.
• Coordinate between Voya Financial and Voya IM for transparent operations.
• Maintain internal financial controls in line with US GAAP and SOX.
• Build relationships with leadership and auditors.
• Manage workload and prioritize timely deliverables.
• Coach and develop staff; drive talent development.
• Perform other duties as required.
