Job summary

Club Capital is seeking a senior onboarding leader to guide our onboarding team from signed to clean, current books across for-profit and nonprofit clients. You’ll manage onboarding accountants, own retroactive work, set up client accounts, coordinate with tax, and drive scalable processes for fast, accurate handoffs to CAS accountants.

This role requires hands-on technical accounting, staff development, and the ability to juggle high volumes while maintaining quality and timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience at senior level or above.
• Strong cleanup/reconciliation skills for messy books.
• Experience with both for-profit and nonprofit accounting.
• Ability to manage a high volume of work across multiple onboarding projects.
• Experience leading or reviewing other accountants' work.
• Excellent client communication; explain finances clearly to clients.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of onboarding accountants: assign work, review output, set quality standards, and develop the team.
• Serve as the first delivery lead for every new client after the sale closes, setting expectations and building trust.
• Own and deliver retroactive accounting work, including catch-up bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Set up new client accounts in our systems and connect clients to tools and processes.
• Manage onboarding change: explain changes to clients and get them comfortable with us.
• Run a clean handoff to the ongoing CAS accountant with complete books and documentation.
• Coordinate with the tax team for clients also using our tax services.
• Track onboarding volumes across stages, spot bottlenecks, and keep timelines.
• Improve onboarding processes with checklists and smarter workflows.
