HII Mission Technologies is seeking a proactive Accountant to support financial reporting, revenue recognition, and SOX compliance. The role focuses on month-end close, intercompany activities, and ongoing function improvements, reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting.

The ideal candidate will bring solid GAAP knowledge, ASC 606 experience, and strong analytical skills to operate in a fast-paced environment while supporting cross‑department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, close processes, and journal entries.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting or consolidations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and data automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fluctuation analyses and financial schedules for assigned entities.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations with accuracy.
• Review customer contracts to support proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
• Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Work with ERP/consolidation systems (OneStream) for reporting and data accuracy.
• Develop automation solutions (Excel/macros, Power Query) to reduce manual effort.
• Participate in system implementations and SOX control initiatives.
• Uphold GAAP, internal policies, and controls.
