Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to drive revenue recognition compliance (ASC 606) across our software and services segments. This hybrid role requires strong GAAP knowledge and experience with multi-element arrangements, with 4 days in-office and 1 day remote in the United States.

You will perform monthly reconciliations, manage journal entries, support SOX controls and audits, and partner with GL, FP&A and Zuora for close processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP, specifically software revenue recognition and multi-element arrangements.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
• CPA/MBA/public accounting experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• MS Office; advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Power BI, Snowflake experience is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle or Zuora (RevPro) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue accounts to the general ledger.
• Calculate and record revenue adjustments in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Participate in the monthly close process and record revenue related journal entries.
• Help manage the revenue accounting system Zuora, including opening/closing periods as part of the monthly close process.
• Ensure deadlines are met on a monthly/quarterly basis, including delivering revenue reporting to internal teams and Emerson.
• Perform key SOX internal controls.
• Prepare and book journal entries to ensure proper revenue treatment.
• Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance.
• Work with GL Accounting and FP&A.
