Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager for Commercial Lines. This remote-friendly role supports IOA - Charleston with overall book management, retention, and service excellence.

Candidates should have a P&C license and strong communication and analytical abilities to lead a team and handle renewals, billing, and client inquiries. The position emphasizes delivering high-quality service, managing policy expirations, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring timely issue

Qualifications

• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
• Active P&C license; CIC or equivalent preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical competence: maintain industry expertise.
• Lead daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations and renewals.
• Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
• Monitor reports and collect overdue balances (accounts receivable).
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms with data accuracy.
• Monitor activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team about workload and issues.
• Deliver excellent service and proactively anticipate needs.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
• Seek and adopt best practices to improve performance.
• Demonstrate integrity and leadership to champion IOA values.
