Job summary

The American Marketing Association is seeking an Academic Communities Intern to support our academic marketers' community through event planning, volunteer coordination, and SIG management. This remote internship offers exposure to conference logistics, member engagement, and cross-team collaboration.

You will assist with SIG webpages, budgets, and attendee inquiries, while gaining experience in event and association management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Enrollment in a 2- or 4-year college/university is preferred.
Experience in customer service or volunteer management is beneficial.
Interest in event management, volunteer management, or association management is desirable.
Experience using Google Suite is helpful.
Attention to detail is essential.
Ability to work remotely up to 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Maintain and manage Special Interest Group (SIG) webpages.
Assist with SIG budget and financial management, including payments, reimbursements, and invoices.
Support planning and logistics for 2027 conferences (Winter, Virtual Winter, Summer, Conferences).
Respond to attendee inquiries with the team.
Assist with Conference and SIG awards processes.
Assist Senior Copy Editor with conference proceedings administration.
