Job summary

The American Marketing Association is seeking an Academic Communities Intern to support the academic community of marketers by delivering community-driven events, supporting volunteer leaders, and fostering a sense of home for scholars.

In this fully remote internship, you will maintain SIG webpages, assist with budgets, help plan conferences, respond to attendee inquiries, and support conference awards processes while collaborating with the Academic Communities team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
• Customer service or volunteer management experience.
• Interest in event management, volunteer management, or association management.
• Experience using Google Suite.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work remotely 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage SIG webpages.
• Assist with SIG budget, payments, reimbursements, and invoices.
• Support planning and logistics for 2027 Winter/Summer conferences and Virtual Winter Academic events.
• Respond to attendee inquiries with the Manager and Support team.
• Help execute Conference and SIG awards processes.
• Assist Senior Copy Editor with conference proceedings.
