Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid Level S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developer to support a government contract for a Greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation. You will translate requirements into technical designs and develop ABAP solutions while potentially mentoring teammates.

Role requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance, and experience with S/4HANA, ABAP, and system integration. This is a remote role supporting a Washington, DC client.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years SAP ABAP development experience for mid-level, 6+ years for senior level.
• Experience with S/4HANA and integration of backend SAP with non-SAP apps.
• ABAP technologies: Reports, RFCs, Forms, OOP, BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, Data Conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, Workflows).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Translate user requirements into Technical Design Specifications and develop ABAP solutions.
• Lead or mentor other developers; promote maintainable development practices.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure quality across the lifecycle.
