Job summary

Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Specialist to work remotely across the US. You will learn and administer 401(k) plans, review client documents, and assist with year-end reporting and IRS Form 5500 filings. This role emphasizes client education and proactive communication.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, detail orientation, and analytical skills, plus a business/finance degree or equivalent experience. Remote work requires a dedicated home office and reliable internet.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Strong customer service, organization and collaboration.
• Adequate math and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously in a self-directed environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients to obtain information for annual reporting.
• Review client-submitted documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Perform 401(k) testing and reporting with administration software.
• Make reminder calls and send emails during plan year reporting.
• Prepare 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration and documents.
