Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a 3D Mechanical Designer to join our Data Center Mission Critical Group. You will draft in AutoCAD and REVIT, model in BIM, and collaborate with engineers while mentoring junior designers. Site walkdowns and adherence to safety standards are key aspects of the role.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Associate degree with significant design experience, or 10+ years in design engineering, plus strong communication skills and travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1+ year design engineering experience, or Associate degree with 6+ years, or 10+ years overall experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit; NAVISWORKS, Inventor, Creo, and Bluebeam are recommended.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 10–15% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting: Create/modify drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT; include layout, detail drawings, piping isometrics and P&ID.
• Engineering Collaboration: Size/design piping, pumps, equipment for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controls.
• 3D Modeling & BIM: Work in 3D BIM; perform clash detection with NAVISWORK or REVIT; create/modify REVIT families.
• Field Work: Conduct site walkdowns and generate walkdown reports.
• Quality & Standards: Self-check drawings; ensure compliance with AutoCAD standards; peer checks.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Review others' work and provide mentoring; meet time goals.
• Communication & Organization: Communicate with engineers and designers; adhere to procedures and safety policies.
