Job summary

Tri-Point is seeking a 3D Civil Modeler/Designer to join our remote-capable team. You will create 3D surface models for GPS machine control and construction layout, bridging design and field execution. Knowledge of GPS hardware and surveying data will be essential.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience with major civil design software and strong communication skills. Occasional site travel is needed, and the company provides the tools to build accurate models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction or Civil Engineering, or equivalent heavy civil work or surveying experience.
• 3–5 years of experience building 3D surfaces with Trimble Business Center, Carlson Civil, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, or Terramodel.
• Experience with Trimble, Topcon, Leica machine control and construction layout equipment is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of and ability to read construction plans.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet project deadlines in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the client to obtain site data needed for constructing the three-dimensional surface model. Interact with clients as needed.
• Review client-provided CAD files and plans to ensure all necessary data is available and communicate omissions.
• Develop layout maps and 3D surface models to meet the client’s requirements.
• Manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments, with typical turnarounds of 1–2 weeks and concurrent assignments during peak periods.
