Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environment Geologist in Germantown, MD, with 2+ years of post-graduation experience for environmental projects, including Remedial Investigations and Site Assessments, primarily in the Federal sector. Hybrid work model in the Washington, D.C. region.

The role requires strong field leadership, sampling, reporting, and coordination with subcontractors and stakeholders, along with US citizenship and willingness to travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related science.
• 2+ years post-graduation experience in environmental consulting for Federal, State, or private clients.
• US citizenship required; sponsorship not available.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR checks.
• Willingness to travel nationwide; field work required.

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks within larger projects.
• Lead field investigation programs involving drilling, borehole logging, and groundwater monitoring.
• Provide technical direction and safety oversight to a multi-disciplinary team.
• Prepare soils, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples for shipping and[custody paperwork].
• Write planning documents and technical reports with junior staff support.
• Assist with proposals, cost estimates, and subcontractor management.
• Coordinate permits and access agreements with public agencies and stakeholders.
• Interact with federal and private clients and develop relationships.
