Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Geologist to support the Environmental business line, primarily on Federal projects in a hybrid work model with the Providence, RI location. Expect 90–100% field work, sample collection, and coordination with subcontractors and project managers.

The ideal candidate has a geology-related degree with experience in environmental investigations, knowledge of field practices, and the ability to obtain necessary clearances and certifications. Travel across the US is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience.
US citizenship required; ability to pass background checks.
Valid US driver’s license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle records check.
Willingness to travel to US job sites and pass medical clearance requirements for OSHA/Hazwoper.

Responsibilities

90–100% of work in the field.
Collect samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, sediment; prepare samples for shipping and maintain chain of custody.
Study contaminants and determine remediation approaches.
Coordinate with subcontractors, field staff and project managers.
Prepare data and basic scientific documents; perform unsupervised field tasks.
