AECOM’s growing Water business seeks a motivated Geologist/Geophysicist/Geoscientist to join our Geotechnical and Geophysics Group in Germantown, MD. The position blends field investigations, data processing, and office deliverables, with travel and collaboration across disciplines.

The role offers in-person work with hybrid opportunities after training. Initiatives include site characterization, interpretation, and reporting for infrastructure projects, starting September 2026.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Geology, Geophysics, Geosciences, Geological Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography/GIS or related field with 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Willing to travel up to approximately 50% to support field investigations, including multi-week assignments.
• Physically active field work outdoors and ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.
• Valid US Driver’s License and ability to pass drug, medical screenings.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support geophysical investigations from field data acquisition through processing, interpretation and reporting.
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized geophysical equipment and perform data processing and GIS mapping.
• Assist in field documentation, data quality checks and preparation of technical reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and travel to project sites as needed.
• Balance field assignments with office-based analysis and deliverables.
