Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to be based in Virginia or Maryland. This position will support our environmental compliance, remediation, permitting and planning projects within our Environment business line.

The role is tied to Spring/Summer 2027 start and involves data collection and analysis for environmental compliance, environmental sampling, and preparation of technical memoranda and reports. Local travel is likely, with occasional U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field (equivalency accepted).
• US Citizenship is required for this role.
• Valid US driver's license required; MVR review will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data for environmental compliance and stormwater projects.
• Perform environmental sampling (stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste).
• Prepare technical memoranda and reports.
• Complete environmental reporting forms.
• Local travel is likely; US travel may be required depending on project.
• Develop analytic and design skills under supervision.
• Create designs, calculations, sketches and schematic drawings under supervision.
• Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
• Work within budget and schedule under supervision.
• Site visits to federal, industrial, and municipal clients.
