Job summary

Housing Alliance HTX in Houston seeks a Relocation Specialist to coordinate relocation services for residents affected by redevelopment and other agency initiatives. You will ensure access to appropriate benefits, accurate information, and support in accordance with URA and HUD requirements.

Responsibilities include interviewing residents, creating relocation plans, coordinating moves, reviewing eligibility, and communicating with families.

Qualifications

• Preferred Associate degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Housing Management, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent with two years in case management/public service or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of URA, 49 CFR Part 24, and HUD relocation requirements.
• Experience coordinating relocation with redevelopment, demolition, rehabilitation, or improvement projects.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and resident relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate relocation activities for residents displaced by agency projects.
• Conduct resident interviews and explain relocation process, benefits, and advisory services.
• Create individualized relocation plans based on resident needs and housing resources.
• Review eligibility for relocation assistance and coordinate benefits and payments.
• Assist residents with housing placement and moving options.
• Schedule moves, coordinate vendors, and monitor relocation activities.
