Main Responsibilities

We believe that the best approach to deterring criminal activity is to understand the vulnerabilities and risks of each location and tailor our approach to effectively reduce risk. As a Retail Security Officer, you will be required to:

• Provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities
• Patrol the shop floor to deter criminal activity
• Assess vulnerabilities and work proactively to minimize risks
• Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable
• Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress
• Conduct colleague and contractor searches in line with company policy
• Report incidents digitally using tablets/phones and plan daily activities
• Prepare detailed and legible incident reports to assist clients and authorities

The Person

To be effective, you should be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents. You should be welcoming, patient, and able to handle conflicts professionally.

Required Experience and Qualifications

You must hold a valid SIA licence to apply. Previous experience in retail security is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Applicants must provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history and bring relevant documents to the interview, including proof of right to work and recent proof of address. A current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence is required.

Salary: £11.44 to £15 per hour, including pension & Perkbox benefits
