Job Description

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. Acts as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Shift

Night shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. No more than 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: At least two years in general security, military, or other public safety roles (preferred)
• Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver's License; adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program (Policy 3500)
• Additional Qualifications: Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire; Georgia P.O.S.T. certification (preferred); ability to carry non-lethal weapons such as Taser CEW and baton; pass pre-employment psychological screening; maintain certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as required
