Responsibilities:

1. Safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients, and property through routine safety and emergency security activities.
2. Serve as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
3. De-escalate critical events safely and exercise sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety fields preferred.
• Valid Driver's license; adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire (required).
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
• Ability to carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening and maintain all required training and certifications.
