Job summary

ENGIE North America seeks a Director of Reliability and Regulatory Compliance to lead the enterprise compliance program across generation, renewables, storage, and transmission in the US and Canada.

You will establish governance, controls, and regulatory strategies to ensure reliable operations and ongoing compliance with NERC, FERC, and market rules, while guiding a team and collaborating with Legal, Cybersecurity, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 15 years in NERC compliance, reliability compliance or related energy discipline.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading regulatory compliance within electric power, renewable energy, storage or transmission.
• Experience interpreting NERC standards and managing Regional Entity obligations.
• Experience directing cross-functional programs with technical, legal, commercial stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of renewable generation, battery storage, power markets, or related technical data.
• This role is eligible for a hybrid in-office work policy and not eligible for remote working.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise reliability and regulatory compliance program, including governance, policies, controls, reporting, and executive-level oversight.
• Direct regulatory registrations, filings, audits, attestations, and corrective actions with timely, complete submissions.
• Oversee regulatory readiness for generation, renewables, storage, and transmission assets, including interconnection and commissioning readiness.
• Guide implementation of NERC standards, CP requirements, and market rules across US/Canada.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to assign ownership, address gaps, and elevate regulatory risks.
• Develop and retain the Regulatory Compliance team with training and succession planning.
