Job summary

LyondellBasell's Channelview site is seeking a Reliability Engineer to sustain and improve plant performance. You will monitor rotating equipment, analyze failures, and implement maintenance best practices across engineering, capital projects and maintenance teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in rotating equipment within refining/chemical environments. Expect a strong focus on safety, data-driven decisions, and collaboration with cross-functional peers

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment design, installation, and maintenance in refining/chemical/power industries.
• Ability to drive continuous safety and reliability improvements in equipment installations and work processes.
• Strong communication skills, written and spoken.
• Proficiency with SAP, System 1 EVO, Meridium or similar reliability software.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment performance and make improvement recommendations.
• Apply data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems affecting operations.
• Consult with site and company peers to develop and implement best practices.
• Provide technical support in design and installation stages of projects for new assets or modifications to minimize life cycle cost and maximize asset availability.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Participate in turnaround planning and optimization activities.
